![]() The Florida Wildlife Hospital & Sanctuary is a non-profit organization dedicated to Florida's wildlife in need. Our mission is to aid sick, injured, and abandoned wildlife and return them to their place in the ecosystem. FWH is open 365 days a year to admit native Florida wildlife and migratory birds. In an average year, over 3,500 animals will be admitted. Some of the animals that we aid include pelicans, gannets, herons, songbirds, raccoons, otters, and turtles. We also treat many declining species that are endangered or threatened, including the sandhill crane, the gopher tortoise, and the wood stork. Frequently, the animals that are brought to us are injured, either directly or indirectly, at the hands of man. Such injuries are due to being hit by cars, monofilament line and fishing hooks, cat and dog attacks, and habitat destruction. It is for this reason we dedicate ourselves to Florida's treasure...our wildlife. |
